Raise Healthy Kids with Awesome Chiropractic Care

Children are at the beginning of their path in life and it’s important to have them checked. We often forget that children have the same spine and nervous system as adults. What’s more, is that these spines and nerve systems are still developing. Kid’s that start healthy are more likely to stay healthy.

We live our lives through our nervous systems

The nervous system is the master controller of our body and if its communication channels become fuzzy, distorted or damaged, we experience all sorts of communication errors. This ineffective communication for babies and children may play out as colic, an inability to suckle and breastfeed, poor sleep, developmental delays, digestion issues, asthma, behavioural problems, low energy, inability to concentrate, headaches, etc – the list is endless. In fact, regardless of what the end result or symptom may be, all roads to ‘optimal health’ lead back to the body’s ability to self-regulate and function at a peak level.

Why should children receive chiropractic check-ups?

The spine is developing rapidly in the first years of life. It is highly affected by the falls and injuries common in those years and the repetitive movements that occur the following years (backpacks, increased computer usage and poor posture). Like dentistry, many parents see the benefits of providing preventative and lifestyle care for their children and see this as an important role in their child’s overall health and wellness.

Should I be worried that my child could be hurt by a chiropractic adjustment?

Absolutely not! We always use safe and gentle techniques adapted for babies or children.

When should my child have their first chiropractic check-up?

The first trauma we all go through is the birth process; it can cause stress to the infant’s spine and may impair nerve function which can contribute to dysfunction. As babies grow they begin to crawl, sit and walk by using their spine. Chiropractic is safe for children and only very gentle and specific techniques are used. Therefore, the there is no minimum age for a child to have their first check-up or adjustment.

We commonly see children with:
· Colic
· Ear Infection
· Asthma / Allergies
· Digestive problems
· Developmental difficulties / Sensory Processing Disorders

These are just a small amount of conditions we see in our office. We also work with special needs children; conditions such as autism, ADHD, and cerebral palsy are commonly seen by the chiropractors at Revolution Health in Vancouver.

Both Dr. Alain Desaulniers and Dr. Chris Chatzoglou are Webster Technique Certified.
